Alopecia is a disorder caused by an interruption in the hair growth cycle. A condition that causes sudden loss of hair from the scalp or hair elsewhere on the body.


In alopecia, hair falls out in large quantities in certain areas, providing visualization of the scalp (in patches) or the skin that was previously covered.

Hair loss can have a variety of causes, from stress, use of medication, or illnesses such as lupus or hyperthyroidism. According to the cause, alopecia can also be divided into several types, the most common of which are alopecia areata, androgenic alopecia and telogen effluvium.
